Item, Weapon, and Armor Information
Armor:
Robe of the Archmagi – This is a deep blue, loose-fitting cotton robe that brushes against the ground and comes up to the wearer’s neck. There is a hood and large sleeves that reach past the wrists. The robe closes in the front by several clasps that are fastened by the inside and run from the neck to the waist. The insides are lined with numerous small pockets for trinkets and spell components. Simple but gaudy silver embroidery of weaves of loops line the edges of the opening in the front of the robe, around the end of the sleeves, and the edges of the hood. As if the showy design were not vain enough, the robe is also enchanted for cleanliness. It always retains its glisten and spotless shine; it does not seem to even need straightened or ironed or cleaned. It resists metaphysical smudges as well, such as curses and ill-intended enhancements, and even conveys these benefits to the wearer and his other equipment. In a matter of minutes, it can even repair tears, burns, and other damage to itself. (Class: Cloth)
Primary Weapon:
Astral Sword – This is a silver-colored short sword. It only measures about two-and-one-half feet from the point of the blade to the base of the one-handed hilt and was bound together with two similar weapons. Two magical gemstones that represent the two original swords, each the size of small marbles, adorn the bottom of the grip, side by side; one is a garnet, given by the Displacement Sword, and one is a diamond, given by the Defender. The sword projects a magical barrier around Kwin Alexander if it is near its master, granting him immunity to mind control and mind altering effects. This invisible barrier can be deactivated and reactivated at will. (Class: Medium)
Secondary Weapon:
Silver Serpent - This was originally a cord from a tapestry that had been enchanted to act as if it had a mind of its own. Over time, it has been modified, reinforced, and enchanted further to become a devastating whip and a conduit of power. Stronger than steel but still appearing as delicate as thread, Kwin Alexander wears this whip as a bracer on his left arm; its 15-foot length coiled repeatedly around his forearm hidden under the sleeve of his robes. He can command it to loosen and fall out of his sleeve where it will normally ball at one end to make the handle of the whip, which can lash out to a maximum of 30-feet. If it contacts another character, it will attempt to crawl across him until it can constrict like a snake. If it is both wielded Alexander and constricting an opponent, Kwin Alexander may use it as a conduit of his force attacks, channeling the energy or elemental attacks through the whip itself. Unfortunately to the bound, these strikes are incredibly hard to avoid, so it infers a 50% penalty to Dodge SVS when a force attack is made in this fashion. Enemies are unable to match essences with the Silver Serpent without the years of practice that Kwin Alexander has endured, meaning that they are unable to send force attacks through the cord back to him. (Class: Light)
Accessories:
Kinkurra Charm - This is a small jeweled pendant consisting of a single golden orb that is covered with emeralds, rubies, and diamonds that hangs on a gold chain. This charm gives the holder the ability to shape shift into a kinkurra; doing so does not alter his stats or confer any abilities of the kinkurra race. If at any time the wearer of this item harms a kinkurra, the item will disappear from his possession.
Raven Boots - These are tall leather boots crafted for durability. They are black with silver buckles; two straps are along the back and one overtop of the foot in order to secure it tightly. A small silver likeness of a flying bird is attached to the outside of each ankle, like a branding. These boots silence the footfalls of the wearer and remove the plasma trails left behind during flight, making the wearer a silent and untraceable stalker. The boots can be willed to extend this effect to silence all aspects of the wearer, masking his breathing and even the sounds of collision; however, this effect requires some concentration and usually cannot be performed in the heat of battle.
Serenity and Clarity - These are a set of gloves made from kran tiger leather wrapped in deco’carr silk that cover Kwin’s hands and arms up to the elbows. They are fastened tightly to his forearm with buckled straps and each stitch is sewn to perfectly grip his fingers. The silk is colored a deep blue, just like his robes. These gloves can be activated as an action (and deactivated for free) to emanate an aura that amplifies emotional responses to all in the area. This aura will not cause someone to feel anything, but it will intensify anything that is already felt, causing even those who are used to bottling up these feelings to show their emotions on their sleeves. Kwin Alexander can use this uneasy balance of emotions (such as love, hate, fear, anger, and paranoia, just to name a few) to manipulate situations inside and outside of battles. All affected understand that there is a magical aura that is affecting them, but they are not privy to where it is coming from; though, this may be a bad thing if the affected becomes agitated with what is happening to him. Strong willed characters can fight the effect depending on the comparison between the combination of their Total VIT and WIS PVS and Kwin Alexander’s. If theirs is greater, then they can choose to be entirely unaffected. If theirs is less than half, then they have no choice but to surrender to the effects. Anything in between gives them a fighting chance, but it requires much concentration. Kwin Alexander is unaffected to the effects of Serenity and Clarity solely due to the mind shielding he receives from his Astral Sword.

Special Ability Information
Level 5 Ability:
Force Mastery – Kwin Alexander’s bond with the forces of Solaris are so strong that he has precise command over his force attacks even after they have left his control. He can manipulate the trajectory and velocity of any of his force attacks from up to 100 feet away, compelling them to stop and shift on a dime and even causing them to expand or mutate or even join with other of his force attacks. When two of his force attacks join, their identity will change to that of the greater attack or Kwin Alexander’s choice, if they are of equivalent power. If these manipulations cause multiple attacks to assail a single opponent simultaneously, damage is calculated as the damage caused by the greater of the two (or greatest of them all), just like a physical attack from a dual-wielder. Kwin Alexander may control multiple attacks at a time in this fashion (up to a number equal to his level divided by 15, rounded down), but some of his other special abilities might requires the use of one of these “Force Mastery slots” to maintain as well. (Passive Ability)
Level 15 Ability:
Shield of Force – If Kwin Alexander fails to dodge a force-based attack, he may attempt a parry/block roll. If successful, he may deflect the attack with a barrier of force that appears upon his arm like a buckler. This barrier may be energy or elementally-based, but similarly to how a parry may fail depending on the attacker’s and defender’s Strength PVS, so can Kwin Alexander’s shield. To be successful, his Total Vitality (if he makes an energy shield) or his Total Wisdom (if he makes an elemental shield) PVS must be at least half of his opponent’s Total Vitality (if he is deflecting an energy attack) or his opponent’s Total Wisdom (if he is deflecting an elemental attack) PVS. If Kwin Alexander deflects in this way, he may not make a force attack that round using the same type of force used to create the barrier (i.e. if he makes an elemental shield, he cannot create and elemental attack that round). (Reaction Ability)
Level 25 Ability:
Flash Freeze – Kwin Alexander snaps his fingers to turn that battlefield into an icy arena. A dome of solid ice appears centered around himself that stretches 50 feet out and high. Objects within the dome (like buildings, trees, and people, Kwin Alexander included) will also be covered in a thin layer of frosty rime that flakes off harmlessly but moistens the skin and clothes so that the full effect of the terrain can seep in. The air suddenly drops to zero degrees Centigrade (the freezing point of water) and Kwin Alexander can sacrifice a Force Mastery slot in order to continue this drop in temperature round after round by nearly ten degrees per turn; any character with ice as a favored element or a creature attuned to ice will be immune to these cold temperatures, but all other enemies and allies will feel slowly intensifying effects of frostbite and hypothermia. It takes three intense strikes with any type of attack in order to break a hole in the dome to escape; a character using fire elemental attacks can make it through in two attacks. (Action Ability)
Level 35 Ability:
Atmospheric Anomaly – Kwin Alexander can create small but destructive anomalies in the form of tornadoes at his command. These anomalies naturally move around erratically and only would last two rounds, but Kwin Alexander can maintain them and control their velocity using Force Mastery; in fact, although he can only create one anomaly per round, he can control up to three using a single Force Mastery slot. Using his control, he can even manipulate the size of these anomalies, sacrificing its speed to make is wider and more potent or choosing to do the opposite. Multiple anomalies, especially stronger ones in an enclosed space (such as inside the icy arena created by Flash Freeze) cause such a disturbance in the currents of the air, ranged and projectile attacks will be knocked off course and it can become difficult for most to stand and impossible to fly; though, characters with sylphid as a favored element or a creature attuned to sylphid can ignore these eddies by controlling the winds immediately around themselves and their ranged attacks. Creatures and objects caught in the center of these anomalies can be ripped apart by the destructive winds. (Action Ability)
Level 45 Ability:
Mind is a Playground - Kwin Alexander is able to “see” all around himself without the use of his eyes with a sophisticated ability to map out the forces in his environment, essentially creating a 3-d model of the area within his own mind. Force attacks, his own and others, are very visible in this map, and so maintaining their locations is much easier and his manipulation of forces with Force Mastery can be done with precision and expertise even if he cannot physically see what he is doing. All living things and even some inanimate objects can even prove to be great sources of force and therefore will also be seen by his mind’s eye. Even mechanically or mystically created apparitions will appear here. Kwin Alexander can distinguish between sources of all of these points in his environment, meaning he can tell if an incoming force attack is energy or elementally-based, if an object is plant or animal in nature, and which of the figures is real and which are false illusions. However, he cannot distinguish to such a sophisticated degree to tell of which element the attack is made, what the species of plant or animal it is, or the identity of the person outside of his sight. (Passive Ability)
Level 55 Ability:
A’lexi - Kwin Alexander is able to force his body to change into his A’lexi form, a winged avatar of justice and piety. The changes are subtle at first; his skin begins to become shaded silver and his eyes are coated with what looks like a metallic layer of quicksilver. After a few rounds, majestic wings with feathers of white with silvered veins erupt from his back; using these wings to fly gives him dominance in the sky and will be unable to be knocked aside with any force or weather, regardless of its power. When his wings emerge, his transformation is final, and his inner power ignites his own Astral Sword in a phantasmal silver flame. This flame empowers the wielder, giving him strength beyond his own. This power gives him the option to throw the weapon as an attack, after which it will return to his hand like a boomerang, and parry with the blade against physical attacks, regardless of the STR PVS of the attacker. If Kwin Alexander makes a successful thrown attack or parry with the Astral Blade, the empowering flames are snuffed for his next three turns, after which it reignites automatically. (Passive Ability)

Background Information
Bad Blood?...
The A’lexi are members of a timeless, extraplanar race led by a commander with the ability to peer into intersecting planes in the ever-shifting miasma of time-space and see into its present and dozens of years into its future. This arrogant being, followed by an arrogant culture, deems himself worthy of deciding who on these planes that are in trouble deserve a second chance and who on these planes that are destined for wrong-doing deserve a swift death. To the former group he sends agents of the A’lexi called Guardians, rescuing those in dire circumstances or from certain doom; to the latter he sends agents known as Executioners, who are never seen and do just as one would expect. A young A’lexi named Yenis of one of the greater houses of Silvia was sent as an Executioner to Western Solaris, near the time of the Great Wars in order to fulfill a specific task.
Once completed, instead of returning to her home plane immediately, the inquisitive A’lexi secretly roamed the nearby Gardens of Basien City. Entrapped by its beauty, she committed the unthinkable, and missed her window to return; as the ever-shifting planes of her home and the Nomaverse drifted away, she became stranded. Unable to live as an A’lexi outside of her plane, she was forced to create a vessel to house her true form; she copied the Western Solarian physiology, as it was the ambient race around her, and she modified it slightly to be able to contain her A’lexi essence. Through a long series of events, she became pregnant.
Yenis was frightened, as she did not know how to birth a child without also giving it an A’lexi form – a form that would live inside the body of her infant like a parasite and snuff out its life as it drained large amounts of life energy. Her own body was specifically created to resist this corrosion, but her poor infant wouldn’t last a day. However, to her surprise, the child lived; little did she know that her son was a legendary True Solarian, one of the few races in the Nomaverse that could actually survive such a parasite for an extended period of time. Her plans were to train her son as soon as he could walk and talk to control this inner being and to create a new body that would be custom made, like her own, to hold in his true form. Sadly, that training never came and her son was orphaned before he could learn the truth…
Under the roof of the Professor...
Excommunicated from both of their homes, Yenis and her beloved became a husband and wife pair of wandering mercenaries and freedom fighters. They died attempting to protect a small desert-dwelling tribe when their child was but an infant; luckily, the child was able to be taken back to the great floating fortress, Solaris City, where he was taken in by an old private teacher, known simply to his adopted boy as the “Professor”.
The Professor did not know the true identity of the growing boy – neither his legendary True Solarian blood nor his A’lexi parasite, slowly killing him from the inside out. If he had, then he would not have been so surprised that they young boy was such a sponge for knowledge that even he could not keep up with his learning. He attempted to send the boy to boarding schools, but he never lasted long; either he was expelled because of his illegal contraband, the sword he never parted with that killed his mother, or because his arrogance and confidence in his intelligence often got him in tight spots with other children who were often twice his age and a mere fraction of his IQ. In the end, the loner spent a majority of his time in the Professor’s attic, learning from the stacks and stacks of tomes that were provided to him by his caretaker and paying his rent by copying and translating books for the use of libraries across the grand city.
Hungry for challenge, he took up the arts of the forces, what he was led to believe to be a complicated task. It only took one near-catastrophe with the fire element in his old, dusty home to make him take most of his practices outside. During his daily walks and practices, he would pass near the edge of the city. Looking through the shifting, translucent hexagons that made up the city’s shield, he could make out a structure in the distance if the sky was clear. It was simple-looking from the outside, but he knew what it was; in fact, he knew many things about it. The Arena of the Elites was a place for fighters to train to defend or destroy. It was a place to truly challenge all those who entered.
One day, when he decided the time was right, he left his foster father and traveled to the Arena to register himself as a fighter of Solaris.
The rise and the calling...
While many other fighters acted more like the bullies of his youth, intimidated and even aggravated by his confidence and arrogance, one in particular noticed and was interested in the potential of the newest addition to the roster, the wizard Kwin Alexander. Lumione, soon to be promoted to the rank of Elite Master, he who runs and manages the fighters, took the newcomer under his own tutelage. Armed with natural talent, an increased learning potential, and a master who was more powerful than all the other fighters, Kwin Alexander’s growth in reputation was only overshadowed by his growth in power.
When threatened by an outsider, the fighters of the Solaris looked to the most powerful fighters for protection. However, a personal conflict froze the elites into a stalemate, unable to confront the problem head-on. Frustrated, Kwin Alexander stepped forward, against the wishes of the elites and his closest associates, beginning a political tailspin that began to topple the structure of the elites but also proved to push them into exterminating the threat.
With a first-hand look at the problems that come with authority’s corruption and apathy, Kwin Alexander vowed to change the way the world worked. He promised to seize control of power through whatever means necessary. He has spent years and years manipulating the formation of the new Elyndrel’s now-anarchical, but budding, structure in an attempt to form a new order. With a command structure put into place and commanded by himself, the world could be a better place.
The awakening...
It seemed that Kwin Alexander was doomed to die of old age after only a fraction of a percentage of his life-span would conclude. His body just was not fit to hold the essence of an A’lexi; it ate away at his life force, poisoned his blood, and withered his flesh. For no apparent reason, his body was wasting away. Even armed with his mother’s old journal, he could not decipher its strange language or come to the fact that her mysterious homeland mentioned in the text was not just a village he had never heard of, it was in fact a different plane of existence.
It was on one fateful day that the planets seemed to align, all in his favor. Every time that the A’lexi home plane and the Nomaverse came close enough to communicate, Kwin Alexander’s inner being passively attempted to communicate with its true leader, but it never had enough power to reach all the way across the planes. This time, though, it was able to get through. As the elementalist’s power grew, so did his A’lexi essence, until it was finally powerful enough to send a plea to its commander.
In an instant, a tsunami of memories and knowledge passed down from A’lexi to A’lexi washed over and throughout him, the missing child and the only one of his kind to be born outside of his home plane. In this moment, he became completely aware of his history, his mother’s abilities, and his own potential. With this new-found awareness and with the blessing of his commander, he created a new body, as his mother did, that would house his true form safely. Armed with a timeless outlook, a millennia of knowledge, and a continual burning desire for peace through dominance, the defender of Elyndrel plans to make his world a better place, whether the others want it or not.
