Quest Title:
Blood Money (PvP)
Repeatable:
Yes
As you walk through the forest you hear someone whistling a strange tune just off the beaten path and over the brush in a small clearing out in the middle of nowhere. It’s a shrouded man sitting on a log next to a campfire. As you near the clearing he turns his shadowy gaze unto you.

“Hello there, warrior.” The shrouded man says, his voice completely unfamiliar to you, not to mention somewhat aged. The man motions for you to sit on a log across from him, and you feel an overwhelming urge to do so.

“You are very powerful.” He takes in a deep breath and gazes at you with two fiercely glowing blue eyes.

You feel somewhat surprised by his words, who is this guy exactly? You don’t remember ever having met the man before, but something about him really seems familiar at this point.

“I’d like to offer you a job, warrior.” The man unknowingly grins beneath his hood at you. “A job you cannot refuse!”

At this point you can’t seem to think of anything to say, but you feel an overwhelming obligation to listen to the man for some reason. Just who is this guy… and why does he have a job for someone he’s never met before? You think to yourself for a moment but find no reasonable answers… only a clouded mind.

“I know what you’re thinking, you don’t know me and I don’t know you.” He says and rambles on, “I know a powerful warrior when I see one, and you fit the bill perfectly.” He slowly reaches down and grabs a small stick, tossing it into the fire. “I could feel your incredible power as soon as you set foot on that trail.” He chuckles and tosses another stick into the flames.

You watch his actions and take in his words, but still can’t seem to find anything to say. You can only listen at this point.

“If you can complete this job for me, I’ll reward you beyond your wildest dreams.” He leans forwards; only the outline of his facial features can be seen from the glow of the flames between the two of you. His glowing blue eyes seem to pierce your very soul at this point.

You continue to listen to the man, unknowingly, you have fallen into a trance of some sort. You haven’t realized it yet, but you couldn’t move even if you wanted too.

“I can see you’re interested, warrior.” He leans back and scratches his chin for a moment, thinking about something. “I’ll tell you what. If you take the job and complete it I will definitely make it worth your while. All you have to do is kill one single man for me.”

Now, whether or not it’s appropriate, moral, or even acceptable at this point, you no longer care. Whether due to something beyond your control or perhaps your own greed, you are finally able to speak. “Who?” It was a single word, a single question… and that was it.

The man smiles, “Come on now, I said I’d make it worth your while. Do you accept the offer?”

Before you can stop yourself, you simply say “Yes.” to the offer, without even knowing who it is. Perhaps the reaction was beyond your control. You felt, strange, to say the least.

“Good… very good. It’s a deal then.” He said. “We… have… a deal.” The man smiles once again, he leans forward and shakes your hand before you’ve even realized you’ve lifted your arm. A strange tingling sensation travels through your hand, up your arm, and into your body. The strange man leans back on the log again, smiling. “We now have a binding contract my friend. You shook on it. Don’t let me down now.”

You’re suddenly able to move around and speak of your own will again, and it’s too late. You can tell from the handshake that something was very off about this guy, and with a gulp you ask again, “…but who is it? Who do I have to kill?”

…and the old man says “You must kill [insert any level 500 player character here]. Now, off with you!” He shouts and the next thing you know, you're walking down the trail again. You stop and look around and begin to search for that fire in the clearing again but it’s nowhere to be found.
Defeat another player character of hypothetical level 500.
As this is a battle session, the character will gain experience as a battle and the session will be tagged as "BS" on the forums. Upon the defeat of a character and the completion of this quest; however, the character will also obtain 2,500,000 Infernal Shards.
