The Solarian Mosquito is very mysterious, only a few have been discovered and all of those have been killed. Not able to get an overall study of the creatures has hindered any vast knowledge of it. All that is known is that the Solarian Mosquito has an unusual color scheme with a mixture of purples, blues, and greens, and possess' anywhere from 2 - 4 sets of wings and is unusually large weighing in at 30 lbs and the biggest that has been found was 8 inches long and covered in a thick but breakable exo-skeleton. The Solarian Mosquito has a 1 foot long proboscus that is tipped with not only the usual aneisthetic but it is also poisonous. The poison is somewhat of a mutagenic compound that can alter the victims body causing them severe pain, emit a rotting flesh smell (that attracts more mosquitoes), and causes their bodies to mutate. The mutation varies but with the more humanoid creatures it creates multiple sets of arms or legs.

The Solarian Mosquito is not a fighter, it is simply a parasite that survives from the blood of others. It is easily destroyed depending on how strong the victim is and that is why the creature has very little known about it. Although the Solarian Mosquito doesn't fight it will swoop it's large insect body down towards its intended victim and land usually upon the arms or neck, and plunge its enormous proboscus as deep as it will go injecting the mutating agent into its victim instantly. Although it is very large the insect can travel somewhat silently through the air and lands softly and quietly on its victims back.

It isn't known as to what time in the history of Solaris that these version of mosquitoes came about. But the locals were quick to find out about them when a large amount of villages began having mutated men and women. As the natural Solarians returned to their villages and began walking about they started attracting large amounts of predators from the smell. Noticing an opportunity with this they began to harvest the mosquitos and place a designated Solarian to become bitten and in time they would venture into the forests and pretend to be dead and allow the rest of the hunters to lye in wait for a Dor' Tuk or any other local predators for them to kill.

The Solarian Mosquito reproduces by laying its eggs inside the bodies of any fallen creatures to allow their offspring to grow. If no corpses can be found, then the Solarian Mosquito will lay its eggs in the hot murky waters of the swamps. The eggs are fertilized by the same mosquito because, like other insects, they naturally possess the ability to fertilize their own eggs. After the eggs incubate in the swamps or corpse, they begin to grow instantly after hatching usually by feeding off of the other weaker mosquitos.

The Solarian Mosquito lives in the moist and humid parts of the forest and in all areas of the swamps. Living mainly low on the grasses of the swamps just at the waters edges and in the thicker parts of the forests in the trees. Their unusual color helps them to camouflage in with the odd colors of the swamps waters and grasses.

The Solarian Mosquito has a vast social structure, although they do not possess a queen, they do form an alliance with each other after they have reached full size. Late at night and during the colder parts of the mornings/evenings, the Solarian Mosquito's will group together and flap their wings repeatedly to keep themselves and the incubating eggs warm. They sometimes have been found to travel in groups towards an unsuspecting victim but other than those moments they don't hold any sort of social structure.

The exo-skeleton of the Solarian Mosquito is breakable and can easily be crushed by the strength of a superior creature. The most simple ways to kill the mosquito is to squish it, but in doing so you could easily stick the proboscus deep into your own body causing the reversal of the mutation to be almost impossible. Simply put the Solarian Mosquito can easily be killed if it is stomped on or simply swatted by your hand.
