The average Solarian Wolf weighs around 200 pounds and is around 5 feet long. Standing at about 4 feet tall, the Solarian Wolf is covered with a thick and dark grey coat of fur. The males are usually the bigger of the species and it isn't strange for them to weigh upwards to 300 pounds and being about 7 feet long. Having dark green eyes and large upright ears, the Solarian Wolf has extraordinary senses being able to see at night and hear for miles. Its organs protected by not only its thick mane but large intertwining muscles that can produce tremendous force. Its powerful jaws and its jutting serrated K-9 teeth enable the Solarian Wolf to cut through the thickest of hides and has been known to cut through some thin armors. Its webbed paws are bigger than normal, especially the males, getting up to a foot in diameter and posessing the non-retractable claws that most wolves do.
Having lived in the forests for the most of its life, the Solarian Wolf has learned very well about its surroundings. Being able to even sense the slightest changes in the world around it, the wolf can easily "feel" the presence of a weaker creature. Continuously leaving its targets lay dead, the wolf has grown accustomed to the stinch of a rotting carcus, which is an easy sign to use when looking for them. The Solarian Wolf is a formidable opponent. Using not only its size, but its vast intelligence to trick and conquer its opponents. Usually hunting or fighting in packs the Solarian Wolf uses this confusion to its already advantage. Some wolves posess the abilities to control certain elements and while others are simply average. Some of the strongest have even been known to make elemental clones of themselves and even having used telepathy, using it to control the minds of their targets. Their intelligence is almost shocking due to the fact that some of the wolves have been known to understand the languages of higher beings and even avoid traps. They also have some mild telepathic powers and can dimly communicate with some humanoid creatures. Being a creature from the Pre-Flux times, the wolf has somehow survived untouched. In recent times the Solarian Wolves have been known to hunt outside of the forests, sometimes entering the villages, maybe as a sign to lack of decent prey. Having been around for several years the Solarian Wolf has been documented constantly and thus far nobody has documented any changes to their physiological structure. The Solarian Wolf reproduces by actually normal methods. The male fertilizes the females egg, and the female holds the offspring for a gestational period of around 4 - 5 months. After the litter is born, usually 5 - 6 pups, the female guards them with her life even from the male. As the female feeds the young, the male will gather food for mainly his family, until the pups are old enough to leave the den. As a pet or a companion the Solarian Wolf is highly useful. The simple fact is that if you can show the Solarian Wolf that you deserve his companionship, then you'll get it for the remainder of his life. Being able to use slight forms of telepathy makes a great opportunity with the wolf in fights, for not having to motion an attack. Ranging from sticking by your side and fighting to the death for pure honor to being a cheerful companion to walk beside when times are bad. The Solarian Wolf lives, travels, and hunts in a group and perform almost all other activities in the company of fellow wolves. The pack, the basic unit of wolf social life, is usually a family group. It is made up of wolves related to each other by blood and family ties of affection and mutual aid. The core of a pack is a mated pair of wolves an adult Alpha male and Alpha female that have bred and produced young. The other members of the pack are their offspring young wolves ranging in age from pups to two and three year olds. The Solarian Wolf is usually extremely weak to any type of fire and so therefore they tend to stay away from it. In some wolves even bright lights tend to hinder their effectiveness, hence the reasoning for their great night-vision. |
