Solaris RPG
Element Name:
Ice
Bordering Elements:
Sylphid, Water
Strong Against:
Water
Weak Against:
Fire

In general science terms, ice is just frozen water, the same element in different states. That is both true and an overgeneralization, but one that has done much to discredit the integrity of the ice element throughout the history of Solaris and elsewhere. But, this fact may be why ice is in a minority with demi as an element with only one strength and one weakness when compared to the other elements. In terms of elemental combat, however, ice and water could hardly be more different. Ice is revered as one of the strongest elements in terms of its defensive capability and having only one elemental weakness definitely helps its case in that respect. Ice is also one of the most common manifestations of elementally-based creatures, probably due to the low spiritual power that is needed to create the element.
Base Wisdom of 50:
Encasement - Upon contact, any ice elemental attack used by an ice user will be accompanied by a small splatter of slushy ice that solidifies into a hard, slick rime within the course of a second. This occurs even on a miss, creating such a splatter on the ground or tree behind the target which is struck. This patch of ice covers only a few inches in radius. Ice users will often times utilize this by striking an enemy’s foot to slow him or hand to prevent him from being able to pick up an object. When attacking something stationary, such as an object to freeze it in place or a doorframe to prevent entrance or exit through that portal, the user does not have to make any type of roll to see if he misses. (Passive Ability)
Base Wisdom of 100:
Barrier - The ice user creates a 10 foot by 10 foot wall of ice that is about a foot thick. This barrier blocks projectiles and force attacks but is destroyed when it takes “damage” equal to the user’s Spirit SVS. If the ice user creates one of these barriers when another is already active, the first barrier immediately melts into a pool of slush that immediately freezes into a large patch of land that is similar to that affected by Encasement. (Action Ability)
