At level 30 a character is allowed to become a Master and take another character as a pupil to teach, an Apprentice. Masters help to teach their apprentice how things work in the world of Solaris and even help the player of the apprentice character how the game itself works, how to fight, and many other things. The following is a list of things that you should always remember about being a "Master" in Solaris RPG.
Things to remember...
To become a Master a character must be level 30. He must then have another character agree to be his Apprentice. There is no requirement to become an Apprentice. Masters may only have one Apprentice and an Apprentice may only have one Master at a time.
An Apprentice must remain a pupil of their Master for a minimum of five levels. There is no limit to how long a character can be a Master to his apprentice, as long as they stay together for five levels or one of them dies by the hand of another character in Solaris RPG.
Masters and Apprentices are forbidden to fight to the death with one another.
After a master has trained his apprentice over ten levels he may choose to pass down one of his own abilities to his apprentice, or a similar ability based on the masters ability.
Apprentices receive an EXP bonus for questing, role playing, training, and sparring with their Master. The higher their Master is, the more of an EXP bonus they will receive. At level 30 a Master grants his Apprentice an additional 30% EXP bonus. For every ten levels a Master is, the Apprentice will gain an additional 10% bonus. For example, if a Master is level 60 his Apprentice will receive a 60% bonus to his EXP gains while in the presense of his Master. Level 100 Masters grant their Apprentice a 100% bonus. If a Master is level 57 however, his Apprentice will only be granted a 50% bonus until he or she reaches level 60. This makes higher level Masters very sought after. This EXP bonus is capped at 100% for level 100 Masters regardless of their Hypothetical Level.
If you want to become a Master you be at least level 30 and have another character agree to become your Apprentice. Either post a request to the staff on the forum, or email the staff, or just complete an RP session working everything out between the two characters involved.
