The advent of cie technology and the transformation into the times of the great floating fortresses of the Solarian tribes of Manark, Malduke, and Osperia may, to some, show a shining example of the peak of civilization on the planet of Solaris. Many observers might declare this time as the golden age of Solaris, but to forget tens of thousands of years of Vegonian dominance would be foolhardy, especially if you happen to be face to face with a Vegonian.

The Vegonian people were considered geniuses of their time. Not because they were the smartest. Not because they were the best- but because anyone who didn’t revere them were crushed and their civilization forgotten. These larger, horned versions of otherwise Solarian biology ruled everything they could reach for almost 50,000 years. Their aggressive and brutal tactics in foreign and domestic relations earned them fear and respect. As a point of trivia, in the Vegonian native tongue, “warfare” and “diplomacy” both translate to the same word.

The Vegonians set themselves apart from other civilizations with their adaptability. Each time they crushed a surrounding village, they stole their scientific research and advancements and integrated them into their own culture. It is even rumored that Vegonians would give technology to other fledgling cultures just to come back and wipe them out several centuries later in order to see what advancements they had made with the gifts they had been given. By doing this, the Vegonians needed less education and fewer scientists of their own, allowing them to devote an astonishing amount of resources toward military functions.

The Vegonian states are ruled by the most powerful, who lead their subjects with absolute dominance. The ruling council would determine the most powerful and assign them for breeding, creating a master race with incredible strength and constitution. Children learned to hold a sword before they would walk or talk and only about 20% were deemed strong enough to last to their teenage years. No one rivaled their power during their reign.

Their perfection became their downfall. For dozens of millennia, only the greatest were allowed to further their species and other races’ blood were not acceptable to be taken into their pure lineage. Without diversity, their people’s strength waned until their dominance over other races was no longer absolute. Without fear, the Vegonians could not rule over all the lands they had and rebellion pushed them into nigh extinction. By the time of the Great Wars, this once-powerful race had been reduced to a scarce supply, forced to integrate themselves into Solarian civilizations in order to survive. The pride kept most Vegonian’s blood pure but the dream of glory and power would be lost forever.
Racial Ability 1:
Brutality - If someone takes physical damage from a Vegonian two turns in a row, he becomes disoriented, reducing the base damage from any attack made that turn by half. (Passive Ability)
Racial Ability 2:
Subjugation - Once per battle, when a Vegonian makes a successful unarmed attack against an opponent, he can follow up immediately with another unarmed attack, as his comes swinging with a flurry of unimaginably savage strikes. This follow-up attack cannot be parried and cannot be subject of any reaction ability – it must simply be dodged. If this second attack is also successful, the target is shaken, unable to make any attack during his turn. (Interrupt Ability)
Racial Ability 3:
Domination - Once per battle, a Vegonian can attempt to assert absolute dominance over an opponent by challenging him to a duel. The target cannot refuse. For the next three rounds, the Vegonian deals 100% bonus damage with all attacks against that target, and in turn, that target deals 100% bonus damage with all attacks against the challenging Vegonian. If either attempts to attack an opponent other than his challenge, he forfeits this bonus before the five-turn challenge is over. This is instantaneous and can be used alongside another action.
